Love is such a wonderful, wonderful blessing, and a horrible, horrible fiend.

The amount of love Ihave is indescribable.

So much when you love meIapos;m on Cloud 9.
When you show me you love me no other feeling can replace it.

So much when you scream at me...when you hurt me...in the end Iknow its worth it.
But deep down inside Iknow you should never do those things to me.
Me, the person who understands you the most.
Me, the person youapos;re supposed to confine yourself within.
If thereapos;s anyone you should ever hurt, it shouldnapos;t be me.

Idonapos;t know why youapos;ve been so indifferent.Or why you desperately seek the approval of others.

But my only purpose is to love you and to care for you.
And if you canapos;t let me do those things...what amI supposed to do?

So since Iapos;m over my cold, I fell back into Rock Band again.

Last night I did Endless Setlist 2 on expert, and after a struggle managed to complete it. There were maybe five songs I failed out of the 84 I had to play through, and only three of those more than once. But, Jesus, for some reason American Woman was nigh-on impossible for me. When on hard and below it was never a problem. I had a harder time with it than Shacklerapos;s Revenge, even. And I hate Shacklerapos;s Revenge like burning. So weird.

But now that I know that I can eventually beat every song in the game, Iapos;m going back and redoing all of the challenges on expert. Iapos;m just shy of having half the achievement points in the game, so right now Iapos;m just aiming to break the halfway barrier.

Doing that, I hit my first flawless song on expert that involved more than talking--Rebel Girl; once the score online updates I should be somewhere in the top 300 scores for that song. Itapos;s easy as hell, but Iapos;m still oddly proud.

I also was, briefly, 31st in the Battle des Femmes Dangereuses; now Iapos;m 46th out of 1166. Itapos;ll keep dropping as the actually talented people play. But I totally cheated on that and played on easy, so itapos;s not like Iapos;m very proud of that ranking.

This actually took place awhile ago but is worthy of posting:

During the first few weeks of private voice lessons, I stress the importance of proper breathing. I had a 6 year old starting voice and during her second lesson I asked her where she was supposed to breathe from. She looked really confused so I tried to help her remember "diaphram."

I started her of...."di" "di-a" She looked very confident at this point and said with assurance "DIARRHEA"

I couldnapos;t stop laughing. She was so embarrassed and began to cry. I decided to move on from the breathing lesson that day.

It is official. The company I am serving my internship at has gone under, so it is safe to assume that said internship is finished. My final grade and evaluation will not be affected by this.

I will have to find another job now, since I gave up the T.A. Position for this. On the positive side, though, I will have more time for Kiyo.

It was good, seeing Renji again. We should meet more often. I started thinking about my old friends, though, especially Kaidou-kun. I...miss him....

. . . Then my newPC is working, has my data, has software installed, can see the net, and knows where my LJis (among other things).Andthatmeans that Iapos;m covered in packing material, dust from behind the old computer, weird grit from insidethe new computer, and soon for a good reason, and Ican now go take a shower knowing that I wonapos;t have to pull everything outagain to make it work. At least not for a few years. Heh.

Wins this time:
  • Fastest switchover ever, despitethe "meh"items below Rah
  • Core 2 Quad with 4GB of 1,066MHz RAM. Dang, this is fast.
  • Samsung22" monitor. This was surely the right choice. Ican feel my eyestrain melting away already. And perversely, it fits where the old 19" monitor went, because new LCD monitors are more svelte and arenapos;t 30 frame.
  • Logitech G7 mouse. Wow, but this is cool. Ican change dpi on the fly with buttons, and Ican swap battery packs like one of those quick-shooting champs swaps pistol magazines.
  • Microsoft Office 2007. Okay, so while Microsoft isnapos;t perfect, this software is still far faster, cleaner, and better-looking than what I had on my old box. Iapos;ll have to spend a few weeks getting Word to work the right way, but thatapos;s life.
  • Windows Vista x64. Specifically, itapos;s very fast, saw myLAN right away, and supports all of my new hardware. And again, while Microsoft isnapos;t perfect, it came through for me: My ancient mail client and text editor, which I canapos;t bear to part with, and which are probably 16-bit applications from the Dark Ages, run better than they ever did. (And eat just about none of my RAM . . . Woohoo)
Meh:
  • Windows Easy Transfer. It isnapos;t easy and it doesnapos;t transfer. After dropping $60 ona Easy Transfer Cable, I ended up doing most of the transfer by USBkey and the rest by bouncing my data off my old computer and onto my new one via my LAN.
  • Stupid bit of plastic.A tiny shred of wrapper down inside the battery well of the mouse prevented the battery from making contact. It took an hour to troubleshoot this (Imean, I donapos;t own a fiberscope). It wouldnapos;t have been there if the mouse hadnapos;t beeninside a bag inside a clamshell caseinside a box. Overpackaging sucks . . .
  • Headset mic. This has nothing to do with the new PC, Ithink. But the mic on my relatively new headset doesnapos;t work (at least not well), meaning that the Shiny Newtrade; experience is slightly tarnished by a cranky piece of old kit.

Iwas just texting a bit with Mr. Fickes and Irealized just how fucking awesome he is. Who else can say they have a 60-something BFFcoworker that shares in shenanigans with them? Ilove him SFM.

Iwas looking through our text history, found a few good (unrelated) bits of conversation, and thought you guys might find them funny/entertaining:

*Glossary*

Patrick: My insane boss
Penny:Duh
Vagina: A temp. Thatapos;s filling in for Eeyore (Lin) while she recouperates from back surgery. Her name is Angia but we call her Vagina.
The Vulcan: Executive Assistant to one of the partners. She looks like a Vulcan.
The Beetle:This chick that assists the director of multifamily housing. One day she was wearing this weird, segmented outfit and Mr. Fickes thought she looked like a beetle. The name stuck.

Also, I*think* my boss is out the rest of the afternoon, so Iapos;m basically on cloud nine right now.

Donapos;t you hate it when a one in a million thing happens to you but it is not something good like winning the lotto?

I left the house at 6:15ish to go to the gym. I get to the end of my road and take a right. There was a guy coming in my direction, but I had pleanty of time to take the turn. I proceed down the road at 35 (the road is 30). The guy comes up like 3 inches from my bumper. So, in a nice "screw you" fashion, I slow down to the speed limit. He backs off so I speed up again. Get to the end of the road and take a right then left then right then left then left then right to get to the gym. At one point, I was waiting to take a right on red, and he honks at me when Idonapos;t take the turn the second traffic frees up. Also, if I made a lane change, so did he. For instance, I was in the left lane behind a slower guy and approaching a light that was turning red. I get in the right lane to go around the guy when the light turns green. I get back over and so does he. Mind you, there are a few ways to get to the gym. The WHOLE time this guy is behind me. I start freaking out because I feel like he is following me. What if he is some psycho road rage guy? I was contemplating going straight past the gym, but I turned in. So did he. I pull down the first isle of the lot, and he the second. I get ont he phone with Chris and wait for people to be around - no way I am getting out of the car alone. Turns out he was going to the gym too - I know he could not have been following me just because you need a membership to get into my gym. Scared the crap out of me though.

Things are going pretty well otherwise. Been very busy between work, house hunting, family, and halloween stuff. Feeling a little off today (but getting better) so hoping that it is alergies not a cold. Good new TV shows to watch:My Own Worst Enemy, The Mentalist.
